2010: Had another strong season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the track and field program. Had best marks of 5:07.37 in the 1,500, 10:52.15 in the 3,000 and 18:11.52 in the 5,000. Finished 10thj in the 5,000 at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. For her career, had best times of 5:07.37 in the 1,500, 10:15.49 in the 3,000 and 17:38.72 in the 5,000.
2009: Had a solid first season in track and field for the Golden Eagles. Had best times of 17:38.72 in the 5,000 and 10:15.49 in the 3,000. Ran well in the fall in her second season of cross country at Cal State L.A. Earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors for a second straight season after finishing 11th in the conference meet with a 6,000-meter time of 23:11.5. Placed 61st in the NCAA Division II West Region championships with a 6,000-meter time of 23:28.6. Was the team’s No. 2 runner for most of the season.
2008: Was a major contributor for Cal State L.A. cross country program in her first year with the program. Earned All-CCAA honors by finishing 11th in the conference championships with a 6,000-meter time of 22:53.2. Was the team’s No. 3 runner in the conference meet. Also finished 20th in the NCAA Division II West Region championships and 79th in the NCAA Division II championships.
At Los Angeles Trade Tech: Competed in cross country and track and field. Had best times of 18:05 in the 5,000 meters and 10:22 in the 3,000.
At Los Angeles High School: Competed in cross country and track and field. Had best times of 5:58 in the mile and 20:01 in cross country.
Personal: Daughter of Miguel Angel Banda and Jaquina Palafox. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys running and resting. Lists getting All-CCAA honors in cross country, finishing 20th at regionals and making it to nationals as her most exciting experiences in sports.
