Summary

Biography

2024: Competed for Cal State LA’s beach volleyball team in the spring. Picked up a win with Juliana Speiski at No. 5 pairs. Played in 11 of 12 matches for the Golden Eagles. Earned 2023-24 CCAA All-Academic honors. Made bigger contributions in the fall for Cal State LA’s defending NCAA Division II champions. Appeared in 16 matches and 48 sets. Had seven kills, five aces and five digs. Had a career-high five kills, one dig and a career-high five points in a five-set win over Cal State San Marcos on Sept. 27. Set a new career mark with two service aces in a three-set win over Western Washington on Sept. 13.

2023: Competed for Cal State LA’s beach volleyball team in the spring. Played in two matches at No. 5 pairs. Made important contributions in the fall while helping the Golden Eagles to their first NCAA Division II national championship as well as a second straight NCAA West Region title and a California Collegiate Athletic Association co-championship. Appeared in 14 matches and 26 sets. Had two kills, three aces and one block. Had two kills, one block and 2.5 points in a win against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Oct. 14. Had her first ace of the season against Regis on Aug. 31. Also had an ace against Central Missouri on Sept. 8 and another one at Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 22.

2022: Joined Cal State LA’s indoor volleyball program in the fall and saw playing time for the NCAA Division II West Region and California Collegiate Athletic Association champions. Made her Cal State LA debut and played one set in a three-set win over Cal Poly Humboldt on Oct. 14.

At St. Paul High School: Earned the Don Ward Memorial Outstanding Athlete of the Year Award. Was the Camino Real League Most Valuable Player and earned first-team All-League honors. Also received Honor Roll recognition.

Personal: Daughter of Gene and Monica Topete. Majoring in criminal justice. Enjoys working out and listening to old music. Lists winning the first national championship for women’s volleyball in school history as her exciting experience in sports. Notes she has two sisters, Kristen and Lauren.
