Cal State LA Athletics

2018: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in 16 games with 13 starts. Played a total of 1,111 minutes. Had one assist and one point. Had an assist on a goal by Robin Lindahl in a 5-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sept. 26. Earned a California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic Award for 2018-19 and also a CCAA Fall Academic Award. For his career, appeared in 37 games with 34 starts. Played a total of 2,180 minutes. Had one assist for one point.

2017: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Started all 21 games he appeared in last season and played a total of 1,069 minutes. Made his Cal State LA debut and played 45 minutes in season-opener against Bethesda on Aug. 31. Played all 90 minutes in a 2-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona in the CCAA AssociationTournament championship game on Nov. 9. Earned a CCAA All-Academic Award for 2017-18.

At Fort Lewis College: Competed in 18 games and started 12 times as a sophomore. Was on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll. Had the game-winning goal at Colorado Christian on Oct. 14. Earned RMAC honorable mention as a freshman. Finished the season with three goals and three assists for nine points. Appeared in 19 games and started 18 times. Played 2,100 minutes over his two seasons with the program. Was on the Dean’s List and earned the Absolute Maximum Math Award.

At Angell Gymnasium: Competed in soccer.

Personal: Son of Sebastian and Nina Weiland. Majoring in international business. Enjoys soccer, beach volleyball, playing the piano and skiing.
