Cal State LA Athletics

2017: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the track and field program. Had best times of 4:38.39 in the 1,500 meters and 16:54.84 in the 5,000. Competed well for the Golden Eagles in his second and final season with the cross country program in the fall. Ran in five races and was consistently in the top-seven. Finished 22nd at the Master's Invitational with a time of 29:31.0 over 8,000 meters. Finished 82nd in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 28:51.6 over 8,000 meters and 185th in the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 36:30.3 over 10,000 meters.

2016: Competed in five events for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall. Finished 88^th in the CCAA Championships with a time of 31:21.6 over 8,000-meters and 166^th in the West Regionals with a  time of 36:42.11 over 10,000 meters. 

At Bell High School: Finished third in the 3,200 meters in the league finals. Was sixth in the league finals in the frosh/soph division of cross country.

Personal: Son of Jose and Silvia Garcia. Majoring in computer science. Enjoys going to the beach, watching movies, driving at night and late-night talks on the phone. Notes he made YouTube videos for the Bell High School cross country and track and field teams.
