Biography

2012: Had another championship season for the Golden Eagles in the final year of his sensational two-year career. Was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Track Athlete of the Year after having a hand in four conference championships. Won conference titles in the long jump and 200 meters and anchored conference champion 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. Earned All-America honors for a second straight season in the long jump after placing eighth in the nation despite being injured on his first jump. Earned All-West Region honors in the 100, 200, long jump and 4x100 relay. Shared the department's 2011-12 Frank J. Candida Award with Daniel Duran as Cal State L.A.'s top male athlete, winning the honor for a second straight year. Had best marks of 10.63 in the 100, 21.17 in the 200, 51.51 in the 400 and 24-9.75 in the long jump. For his career, ended up with a national championship, two All-America awards, eight All-West Region honors, seven CCAA titles and 10 All-Conference awards. Had best marks of 10.52 in the 100, 21.10 in the 200, 25-6..25 in the long jump and 44-9 in the triple jump. 2011: Had a tremendous first season with the Golden Eagles and won a NCAA Division II national championship in the long jump. Soared a wind-aided 26-1.50 on his first jump in the national championships. Shared the department's 2010-11 Frank J. Candida Award with Josh Como as Cal State L.A.'s top male athlete.Was named the CCAA Newcomer of the Year after winning three conference championships. Won CCAA titles in the 100 meters, 200 and long jump. Also ran on two relay teams that earned All-CCAA honors after finishing third. Earned All-West Region honors in the 100, 200, long jump and 4x100 relay. Had best marks of 10.52 in the 100, 21.10 in the 200, 25-6.25 (non-wind aided) in the long jump and 44-9 in the triple jump.
 
At Western Texas College: Was a three-time All-American. Had best marks of 10.55 in the 100, 21.31 in the 200 and 24-9.75 in the long jump.
 
At Riverside Community College: Took fourth in the state in the long jump and was on a 4x100 relay team that placed second. Was part of RCC’s state championship team in 2009.
 
At Bossier High School: Was a two-time state champion in the long jump and a state champion in the 4x100. Earned All-State honors four times, All-Area honors four times and All-District honors four times.
 
Personal: Son of Judy Bryant. Majoring in computer information systems. Enjoys reading. Lists winning the national championship in the long jump last season with the Golden Eagles as his most exciting experience in sports.
