Cal State LA Athletics

2012: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Had best times of 1:54.28 in the 800 meters, 3:59.58 in the 1,500 and 8:42.46 in the 3,000. Finished fifth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association in the 1,500 and seventh in the 800. 

At Antelope Valley College: Earned All-America honors in the 1,500 meters after finishing fourth in the state with a time of 3:55.03. Also earned All-America honors in cross country after competing in the state championships.

At Knight High School: Won Golden League championships in the 800 and 1,600 in 2009. Earned the team’s MVP award. Competed in cross country and track and field.

Personal: Son of Maria Amaya. Majoring in criminal justice. Enjoys a bag of Doritos and watching action movies. Lists winning as his most exciting experience in sports.
