NORTHRIDGE -- Cal State LA's beach volleyball team had a busy day Saturday at the CSUN Beach Volleyball Complex at Cal State Northridge.

The Golden Eagles lost in a tight match with The Master's University, 3-2, and then fell to Cal State Northridge, 5-0, in a later match. Cal State LA (2-3) played in four matches over the past two days.

The Golden Eagles got wins from their top two pairs in the match against The Master's. Karla Santos and Alejandra Negron beat Desi Elizondo and Katie Emmerling, 24-26, 21-17, 15-11 in the best contest of the day at No. 1 pairs. Cal State LA's No. 2 pairs of Jessica Kaeka and Julia Azevedo defeated Kylie Brown and Ketty Totemeier, 21-18, 25-23. In an exhibition contest, Shea McGovern and Haley Roundtree beat Sadie Ascanio and Kimberly Arispe, 21-11, 21-11.

Against Northridge, Santos and Negron fell in a close match at No. 1 pairs, 21-16, 21-17 and Kaeka and Azevedo lost at No. 2 pairs, 21-12, 21-14. 

Cal State LA will return to action on March 11 with a pair of matches at Concordia-Irvine.
