NORTHRIDGE -- Cal State LA's beach volleyball team found the going tough Thursday against NCAA Division I Cal State Northridge.
The Golden Eagles got another strong showing from No. 1 pairs
Karla Santos and
Alejandra Negron, but fell to the Matadors in a match at the Matador Beach Volleyball Facility. Cal State LA (2-9) and Cal State Northridge (15-6) were originally scheduled to play on March 21, but that contest was postponed by rain.
Santos and Negron were edged by Cal State Northridge's Katie Sato and Aeryn Owens, 21-19, 21-14.
Janessa Mata and Daisia La Brie fell at No. 2 pairs to Kristey Markle and Nickeisha Williams, 21-12, 21-3,
Bailey Anderson and
Erianna Williams fell at No. 3 pairs to Lauren McMurray and Autumn Russell, 21-9, 21-8,
Caitlyn Bato and
Michelle Boyd fell at No. 4 pairs to Nicolette Pinkney and Lauren Conati, 21-9, 21-4 and
Jeshmarie Suarez and
Victoria Duarte fell at No. 5 pairs to Erin Indermill and Daniella Molinari, 21-6, 21-11.
Cal State LA will conclude its second beach volleyball season on May 2 in Santa Monica.
