Summary

Biography

2020: Was a key member of Cal State LA’s beach volleyball team in the spring. Competed in six matches at No. 3 and 4 pairs before the season was halted.

2019: Was a key member of Cal State LA’s beach volleyball team for a second straight year in the spring and was a regular member of the team’s top five pairs. Showed tremendous improvement and had her best season yet in the fall with Cal State LA’s indoor team. Appeared in 21 matches and played a total of 60 sets. Was third on the team in total blocks with 58 and second on the team and seventh in the California Collegiate Athletic Association in blocks per set (0.97). Had 52 kills and 84 points. Recorded a career-high 10 kills and four blocks in a four-set win at Cal State San Marcos on Nov. 9. Had a career-high eight blocks in a five-set win over Cal Poly Pomona on Nov. 2. Also had seven blocks in a five-set win over San Francisco State in the opening round of the CCAA Tournament on Nov. 21.

2018: Was a key member of Cal State LA’s beach volleyball in the spring and was a regular contributor. Returned for a second season with the Golden Eagles in the indoor season and made significant contributions. Appeared in five matches and eight sets. Recorded a career-high five kills in two sets against American International on Aug. 25. Also had two kills against Alaska Fairbanks on Sept. 1

2017: Provided valuable depth for the program in her first season with the Golden Eagles in the fall. Appeared in nine matches and a total of 14 sets. Had six kills and 12 blocks, including three solo. Finished the season with 13.5 points. Had three kills and two blocks against Hawaii Pacific on Sept. 8.

At Alta Loma High School: Earned Mt. Baldy League and team Most Valuable Player awards in 2016-17.

Personal: Daughter of Paul and Droxina Duarte. Majoring in public health. Enjoys hiking and going to the beach. Lists winning the tournament to earn a bid to Junior Olympics in her senior club season as her most exciting experience in sports.
