Cal State LA Athletics

2020: Competed for Cal State LA’s beach volleyball team in the spring and played in two matches at No. 5 pairs before the season was halted. Received 2019-20 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors.

2019: Had an outstanding first season the Golden Eagles’ indoor team in the fall. Made immediate contributions as a true freshman. Led the team in set assists with 585 and was fourth in service aces with 20. Had a season-high 45 set assists in a four-set win at Cal State San Marcos on Nov. 9. Also had 30 assists in a five-set win over Sonoma State on Oct. 19. Had a season-high three service aces in a three-set win over Azusa Pacific on Sept. 13 and matched that in a four-set win over Sonoma State in a California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament semi-final on Nov. 22. Had a season-high eight digs in back-to-back matches against Cal Poly Pomona on Nov. 2 and UC San Diego on Nov. 8.

At John Burroughs High School: Earned first-team All-Pacific League honors and received outstanding achievement in art.

Personal: Daughter of Brian and Julie McGovern. Majoring in film and media studies. Enjoys painting, drawing, any form of art, hanging out with friends and listening to music. Lists winning a silver medal in a Junior National Qualifier in 2018, a bronze medal in 2019 and winning four Pacific League championships in high school as her most exciting experiences in sports. Notes she trips a lot.
