NORTHRIDGE -- Cal State LA's beach volleyball team played well against some tough competition Thursday at Cal State Northridge.
The Golden Eagles got a win from No. 1 pair
Karla Santos andÂ
Alejandra Negron in a 4-1 loss to Concordia and then came back and battled in a 5-0 loss to Cal State Northridge at the Matador Beach Volleyball Facility. Cal State LA (2-2) had opened its season last week with the program's first-ever wins.
Santos and Negron picked up a win over Concordia' Kersti Whitney and Avery Keathley, 22-20, 23-21, in their first match of the day.

Janessa Mata fell at the No. 2 pairs to Tristan Self and Vanessa Bernzen, 21-12, 21-17,
Daisia LaBrie and
Caitlyn Bato fell to Kyra Auten and Marcela Frazzoni at No. 3 pairs, 21-10, 21-10,
Erianna Williams and
Jeshmarie Suarez fell to Jessica Diederich and Asia O'Neil at No. 4 pairs, 21-14, 21-9 and
Victoria Duarte and
Michelle Boyd fell at No. 5 pairs to Riley Gill and Kelela Hendrickson, 21-9, 21-14.
Against Northridge, Santos and Negron fell to Katie Sato and Aeryn Owens, 21-14, 21-17, Anderson and Mata fell to Kristy Markle and Nickeisha Williams, 21-13, 21-11, LaBrie and Bato fell to Lauren McMurray and Autumn Russell, 21-12, 21-8, Suarez and Duarte fell to Erin Indermilli and Daniella Molinari, 21-10, 21-13 and Boyd and Williams fell to Nicolette Pinkney and Lauren Conati, 21-1, 21-12.
Cal State LA will return to action on March 13 with a pair of matches at Vanguard.
