NORTHRIDGE -- Cal State LA's women's tennis team came up short in a battle against NCAA Division I Cal State Northridge on Wednesday.
The Golden Eagles dropped all three doubles sets to lose the doubles point and then fell in five of the six singles matches to lost to the Matadors, 6-1, in Division I scoring. Cal State LA (9-7) had a four-match winning streak snapped by Cal State Northridge (8-9).
Pyper Brown picked up the lone point for the Golden Eagles after beating Leslie Chang, 6-3, 7-5, at No. 6 singles.
Cal State LA had a strong showing at No. 2 doubles where 
Iris Raileanu and 
Isabella Lopez fell to Vivian Lin and Skyla Alcon, 6-4. 
Nozomi Matsuoka and 
Kayleigh Hall lost at No. 1 doubles, 6-2, to Mickey Hsu and Kristen Poel, while 
Elizaveta Sokolova and Brown lost at No. 3 doubles to Kiryang Kim and Mari Taslagyan, 6-2.
Lopez had a tough match at No. 5 singles, falling 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 to Kim, while Sokolova lost in a tiebreaker to Lin at No. 2 singles, 2-6, 6-2, (10-8).
Cal State LA will return to action on Friday with a home match against Concordia at 1:30 p.m.
