Biography

2017-18: Had a fourth sensational season with the Golden Eagles to complete an outstanding four-year career with the program. Was the team's No. 1 singles player for the first time. Had a 10-12 overall record in singles, including a 7-10 mark in dual matches. Had a 13-15 record in doubles, including a 10-11 mark in dual matches. Earned third-team All-PacWest Conference honors in doubles. Picked up ITA Scholar-Athlete Award for a fourth straight season and Academic All-PacWest Conference honors for a fourth time. For her career, set a new program record with 56 doubles wins. Also finished her career with 52 singles victories, which is No. 3 all-time. Had an overall record of 52-41 in singles and 46-38 in doubles. Recorded a total of 85 points in dual matches in her career.

2016-17: Had a third tremendous season with the Golden Eagles as a junior. Compiled a 10-11 overall singles record and flourished in doubles, posting a 19-5 overall record with partner Luciana Di Laura. Team was 17-4 in dual matches, including 15-4 at No. 3 doubles and 2-0 at No. 2 doubles. Played primarily at No. 3 singles. Won 10 of her last 11 doubles matches, including an 8-5 decision over BYU-Hawaii in a PacWest Championships semi-final match. Won all three matches in the conference tournament. Earned an ITA Scholar-Athlete Award for a third straight year and also received Academic All-PacWest Conference recognition for a third time. Was on the Dean’s List of Engineering for a fourth straight term.

2015-16: Had a second outstanding season with the Golden Eagles as a sophomore. Finished with an overall singles record of 13-10. Also recorded 11 wins in doubles for Cal State LA with three different partners. Moved up to No. 2 singles and had an 11-9 record in dual matches. Finished the season ranked 19th in singles in the West Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Earned third-team All-PacWest Conference honors. Picked up the athletic department’s Academic Achievement Award (female) for 2015-16. Made the Dean’s List. Earned an ITA Scholar-Athlete Award and received Academic All-PacWest Conference recognition.

2014-15: Had a sensational first season with the Golden Eagles as a freshman. Had an outstanding singles record of 19-8, including a 13-6 mark in dual matches. Had a 10-5 record at No. 3 singles. Picked up the deciding point in a 5-3 win over Azusa Pacific in the PacWest Championships (4-16-15). Reached the semi-finals in singles and the finals in doubles at the Cougar Classic last fall. Captured the consolation bracket at the Matador Fall Invitational at Cal State Northridge. Earned an ITA Scholar-Athlete award and also received Academic All-PacWest recognition.

At #1191 Moscow High School: Competed in tennis and volleyball. Earned sixth place in Russia in physics and graduated from high school with a gold medal (4.0 grade point average).

Personal: Daughter of Andrew Sokolov and Ekaterina Sokolova. Majoring in computer science. Enjoys traveling, swimming, cooking and the beach. Lists beating BYU-Hawaii in doubles at the PacWest Championships and beating Hawaii Pacific, 5-4, in a dual match as her most exciting experiences in sports. Enters her senior season with 42 singles wins, which is No. 5 all-time at Cal State LA and 43 doubles wins, which is No. 3 all-time.
