Box Score SAINT GEORGE, UT -- Cal State L.A.'s baseball team was unable to take the finale of a three-game series at Dixie State College on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles managed nine hits, but were blanked for the second straight game in an 11-0 loss to the Red Storm at Bruce Hurst Field. Cal State L.A. (14-26) has now lost 11 straight games since taking a California Collegiate Athletic Association series from Cal State San Bernardino.
Cal State L.A., after scoring nine runs in the series opener on Friday, was shut out in the final two games.
Casey Ryan went 2-for-4, while
Kyle Peralta was 2-for-3 with a triple.
Steven Luna went 2-for-3.
Ryan Keller kept the Golden Eagles within striking distance for the first five innings. He gave up five hits and two runs while walking one and striking out one.
Dixie State broke the game open with two runs in the sixth, three in the seventh and four in the eighth.
Donald Glover was 4-for-5 to pace a 15-hit attack for the Red Storm. Kevin Kline was 3-for-4 with three RBI, Yuko Kata was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and one home run.
Kody Christoffersen was the first of four Dixie State pitchers and he picked up the win after allowing just three hits over five innings.
Cal State L.A. will return to CCAA action on Friday with the opener of a four-game series at Cal State East Bay.
