GLENDALE, AZ – Cal State L.A.'s women's tennis team had a tough match in its final competition in Arizona on Sunday.
 
 
The Golden Eagles lost to Hawaii Pacific, the No. 2 team in the NCAA Division II West Region, 8-1, in Glendale, AZ. Cal State L.A. (3-4) lost its second straight match and finished its Arizona tournament with a 2-2 record.
 
The Golden Eagles posted wins over Hawaii-Hilo and Dixie State and lost to Hawaii-Pacific and Chaminade.
 
The only point for the Golden Eagles came at No. 4 singles where 
Jillian Sangria beat Carrie Shuler, 6-1, 6-4. Sangria won all four of her singles matches during the trip.
 
 
Cal State L.A.'s No. 1 singles player, 
Christie Lau, lost a hard-fought match to Hawaii Pacific's Zora Vlckova, 6-3, 6-3. Lau and 
Larn McShane lost at No. 1 doubles to Carrie Shuler and Ielyzaveta Rybakova, 8-4.
 
 
Cal State L.A. will return to action with a match at Concordia on Feb. 21.
