GLENDALE, AZ – Cal State L.A.'s women's tennis team got its Arizona trip off to a successful start.
The Golden Eagles swept the three doubles contests and then won all six singles matches in straight sets to post a 9-0 victory over Dixie State Friday in Glendale. Cal State L.A. (2-2) picked up its second straight win against an NCAA Division II opponent.
Lau won her match at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1 over Dixie State's Allison Long. McShane won at No. 2 singles over Lauren Tarver, 6-1, 6-0, Majzlikova won her match at No. 3 singles over Hillary Wright, 7-6, 6-0, Sangria won at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-1, over Lindsay Snow, Spassoff won at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-3, over Sarah Hughes and
Maria Xavier won at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-0, over Adrienne Davis.
Cal State L.A. will return to action on Saturday with two matches against West Region competition. The Golden Eagles will face Hawaii-Hilo at noon and Chaminade at 6 p.m. in Glendale, AZ.
