LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.'s women's tennis team came up short against a powerful Cal State Stanislaus team on Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles managed only a point from
Marine Prevost at No. 4 singles and fell to the Warriors, 8-1, in a California Collegiate Athletic Association match Tuesday at the CSULA Tennis Complex. Cal State L.A. (3-9, 2-7) lost for the second time this season to Cal State Stanislaus (9-2, 6-2 CCAA).
Prevost, though, continued her steady play. She pulled out an exciting win over Lexy Harrington, 4-6, 6-2 (11-9), winning the final two points in the super-tiebreaker. That was one of two matches that carried into a super-tiebreaker. Cal State L.A.'s
Lana Lamesic held a match point, but couldn't hold off Katie Eng at No. 2 singles. Eng prevailed, 7-6, 4-6, (11-9).
Bojana Ducanovic put up a good battle at No. 1 singles, but lost to Cal State Stanislaus star Verena Preikschas, 6-3, 6-3.
The Warriors claimed all three doubles contests by scores of 8-2, 8-3, 8-2.
Cal State L.A. will conclude its season on Thursday with a conference home match against Cal Poly Pomona.
