Biography
2012: Had a fantastic season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Finished 12th in the nation in the 800 meters and 17th in the 1,500 at the NCAA Division II Championships. Earned All-West Region honors in the 800 meters, 1,500 and 5,000. Won California Collegiate Athletic Association titles in the 800 and 1,500 at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. Also finished fifth in the conference in the 5,000. Had best marks of 2:10.87 in the 800, 4:29.47 in the 1,500 and 16:51.33 in the 5,000. Also was tremendous during the indoor season. Earned All-America honors after finishing eighth in the nation in the mile. Also finished ninth as part of the distance medley team. Earned All-West Region honors in the 800, mile and as part of the distance medley team. Had best marks of 2:14.95 in the 800 and 4:54.07 in the mile. For her career, had best marks of 60.27 in the 400, 2:10.87 in the 800, 4:29.47 in the 1,500, 10:19.83 in the 3,000 and 16:51.33 in the 5,000 in outdoor track and 2:14.95 in the 800 and 4:54.07 in the mile in indoor track. Finished her career No. 3 all-time at Cal State L.A. in the 5,000, No. 4 all-time in the 1,500 and No. 8 all-time in the 800 in outdoor track and No. 1 all-time at Cal State L.A. as part of the distance medley team, No. 2 all-time in the mile, No. 3 all-time in the 800 and No. 3 all-time as part of the 4x400 relay team in indoor track.
2011: Had an outstanding season running for Cal State L.A.’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams. Earned All-West Region honors in indoor track in the 800 and as a member of the 4x400 relay team. Had a best time of 2:14.96 and posted a provisional qualifying mark in the 800. Finished fourth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association in the 1,500 in outdoor track and field. Had best times of 60.27 in the 400, 2:17.29 in the 800, 4:43.28 in the 1,500 and 10:19.83 in the 3,000. Had her best season with the cross country program in the fall. Earned All-CCAA honors after finishing eighth in the conference championships with a 6,000-meter time of 21:41.5. Also finished 41st in the NCAA West Regionals with a time of 24:33.0. Had a seventh-place finish at the UC San Diego Triton Classic with a time of 22:53.8 over 6,000 meters and had a best 5,000-meter time of 18:11.3 at the UC Riverside Invitational while finishing 15th.

2010: Competed in her second season with Cal State L.A.’s cross country program. Finished 32nd in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 23:29.4 over 6,000 meters. Was the team’s No. 1 runner at the Cal State Fullerton Invitational with a time of 24:10.7 over 6,000 meters.

2009: Had an impressive first season with Cal State L.A.’s outdoor track and field team. Had best times of 2:21.87 in the 800, 4:44.25 in the 1,500 and 18:46.50 in the 5,000. Did not compete for the Golden Eagles and was a red-shirt in cross country in the fall.

2008: Competed in the fall for Cal State L.A.’s cross country team as a freshman. Was consistently in the top-seven for the Golden Eagles. Finished 25th in the CCAA Championships with a time of 23:43.9 over 6,000 meters and helped the team to a second-place conference finish. Placed 55th in the NCAA Division II West Region championships and 136th in the NCAA Division II National Championships.

At San Fernando High School: Earned a varsity letter award. Competed in cross country and track and field. Had best times of 18:26 in cross country, 5:14 in the mile and 2:16 in the 800 meters. Was a city champion in cross country and a member of the school’s Honor Roll in 2007.

Personal: Daughter of Jose Sanchez and Adriana Gudino. Majoring in social work. Enjoys reading, hiking and spending time with her brothers. Lists qualifying for the state championships in high school and competing in the cross country nationals for Cal State L.A. in 2008 as her most exciting experiences in sports.
