Cal State LA Athletics

2012: Was on the roster, but did not compete in any meets for the Golden Eagles in her one year with the program.

2011: Competed in two events in cross country for the Golden Eagles. Had a 5,000-meter time of 20:42.3 in the UC Riverside Invitational and a 6,000-meter time of 25:46.4 at the Cal State Northridge Invitational.

At Baldwin Park High School: Was a team captain in cross country and track and field. Was named the team’s Most Improved Runner twice in cross country and once in track and field. Was on the school’s Honor Roll all four years in high school, earned the Scholar Award and graduated with honors. Team won first place in the Pride of the Valley 5K. Also competed in basketball and wrestling.

Personal: Daughter of Oscar Alfaro and Erika Vega. Is an undeclared major. Lists being able to volunteer at the Olympic Trials as her most exciting experience in sports.
