Summary

Biography

2011: Had a tremendous first season for the Golden Eagles. Won the California Collegiate Athletic Association championship in the 10,000 meters in outdoor track and field. Had a best time of 38:30.50 in that event. Also had best times of 10:34.18 in the 3,000 and 17:58.80 in the 5,000. Earned All-West Region honors in indoor track and field in the 5,000 meters and had a best time of 18:28.08. Had a second straight outstanding season in cross country in the fall. Earned All-CCAA honors by finishing ninth in the conference with a 6,000-meter time of 21:46.6. Helped the Golden Eagles to a third-place finish. Had the best individual performance in the NCAA West Regional after finishing 26th with a  time of 22:24.0.

2010: Had an outstanding first season with the cross country program. Had her best finish by placing seventh in the Triton Invitational with a time of 17:54.5 over 5,000 meters. Finished 20th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 22:53.9 over 6,000 meters. Placed 37th in the NCAA West Regional with a time of 24:18.9 over 6,000 meters. Earned CCAA Runner of the Week honors twice during the season, for the week of Sept. 13-19 after finishing 38th at the UC Riverside Invitational with a time of 17:59.3 over 5,000 meters and for the week of Oct. 11-17 after finishing 19th at the Cal State Northridge Invitational with a time of 22:00.4 over 6,000 meters.

At Los Angeles Trade Tech: Earned All-America honors in the 5,000 meters and 10,000. Won the Southern California championship and was fourth in the state in the 5,000. Also placed second in the state in the 10,000. Track team finished fourth in the nation, while the cross country team placed 11th in the state.

At South Gate High School: Was on the varsity cross country and track and field teams all four years in high school. Earned Most Outstanding Runner and Rookie of the Year awards. Won a league championship in cross country in 2007.

Personal: Daughter of Jim Browne. Majoring in social work. Enjoys running, eating and sleeping. Lists winning the CCAA 10,000-meter championship in track as her most exciting experience in sports.
