Summary

Biography

2011: Concluded her soccer career at Cal State L.A. after another outstanding season. Started all 21 games as a midfielder for the Golden Eagles and helped the team to a 13-4-4 overall record and to the NCAA West Region championship match. Team finished ranked 12th in the country. Had a pair of assists, including one for the game-tying goal in a match at Cal Poly Pomona. Earned California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors for a second straight year at the conclusion of the 2010-11 academic year and received a Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award. Was selected by Cal State L.A.’s Division of Intercollegiate Athletics to receive the Hal Charnofsky Memorial Award for 2010-11 from the CCAA and picked up the athletic department’s Academic Achievement Award (female) for 2011-12.
 
2010: Appeared in all 20 games for Cal State L.A.’s women’s soccer team and was a top reserve. Earned CCAA All-Academic honors for the 2009-10 academic year. Helped team to a second straight CCAA South Division championship and into the NCAA playoffs.
 
2009: Made a big impact for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the women’s soccer program. Appeared in all 22 games for Cal State L.A. and was a key reserve. Helped team win its first-ever CCAA championship and into the NCAA playoffs.
 
At Cosumnes River College: Earned the team’s academic excellence award for having the highest grade point average on the team. Was a Scholar Baller. Had six goals and six assists.
 
At Elk Grove High School: Competed in soccer and track and field. Was a scholar-athlete all four years in high school. Earned the outstanding scholar award on both soccer and track and field teams. Also earned the Link Crew Award and the Renaissance Award.
 
Personal: Daughter of Shirley Younge. Majoring in communications and psychology. Enjoys reading, scrapbooking, taking pictures and dancing. Lists beating Santa Rosa during league and being one game away from making it to the Final Four at Cosumnes River College as her most exciting experiences in sports. Is Cal State L.A.’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee president for 2011-12.
