Cal State LA Athletics

2011: Competed in two races for Cal State L.A.’s cross country team in the fall. Had a best time of 20:42.3 over 5,000 meters at the UC Riverside Invitational. Had a best time of 25:46.4 over 6,000-meters at the Cal State Northridge Invitational.

At Gabrielino High School: Was the Co-Most Valuable Runner on the cross country team and earned second-team All-League honors. Was the team Most Valuable Player in soccer and earned first-team All-League honors. Was the team MVP in track and field and took third place in the league with a time of 2:24. Received the Marine Corps Student-Athlete Award.

Personal: Daughter of Esteberto and Horalia Gamboa. Majoring in psychology. Enjoys discovering new music, dancing and hanging out with friends. Lists breaking the school record in the 800 and earning first-team All-League honors in soccer as her most exciting experiences in sports.
