Cal State LA Athletics

2012-13: Was the No. 1 player once again for the Golden Eagles and completed a sensational three-year career with the program. Had a 19-6 overall record in singles, including a 13-5 mark in dual matches at the No. 1 spot. Also had an overall record of 12-10 in doubles, including a 10-8 mark with Leora Hemmerich at No. 1 doubles. Finished the season ranked 30th in the nation in singles. Earned second-team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, becoming the first player in school history to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in multiple years. Also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 honors for a second straight year. Received Cal State LA's Exceptional Student-Athlete honors (female) for a second straight year. For her career, had an overall record of 60-23 in singles, including a 40-17 mark at No. 1 singles. Had an overall record of 52-25 in doubles, including a 38-18 mark in dual matches. Finished her career No. 1 all-time in doubles wins at Cal State L.A. and No. 2 all-time in singles wins. Her 112 combined wins in singles and doubles is No. 2 all-time. Recorded a total of 78 points in dual matches for the Golden Eagles in her career.

2011-12: Was the No. 1 player for Cal State L.A. for a second straight year. Earned All-America honors for the first time after finishing the season ranked 18^th in the nation. Became only the program’s second All-American since 1996. Compiled a 21-9 overall record and had a 22-4 mark in doubles with teammate Larn McShane. Had a 12-6 mark at No. 1 singles and a 16-1 mark at No. 1 doubles. Finished 11^th in the nation in doubles, which was the highest ranking for a Cal State L.A. team since 1993. Finished ranked fifth in singles in the West Region and third in doubles. Reached the finals of the Ojai Valley Tournament and started the season by reaching the semi-finals of the ITA Fall West Regionals at Cal State L.A. Earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors and received an ITA Scholar-Athlete award. Shared Cal State L.A.’s Exceptional Student-Athlete of the Year Award (female) with Lisa Ohberg for 2011-12. Also earned the prestigious Arthur Ashe Award For Leadership and Sportsmanship for the West Region.

2010-11: Was the No. 1 player for Cal State L.A. as a sophomore. Had a 20-8 overall record, including a 15-6 mark at No. 1 singles. The 20 wins were the most for a Cal State L.A. player since 2004. Also compiled a 17-11 overall record at No. 1 doubles with Larn McShane. Reached the semi-finals of the ITA Fall West Regionals at Cal State L.A. Also reached the quarterfinals at the Ojai Valley Tournament. Finished the season ranked 24^th in the nation in singles and sixth in the West Region in singles. Finished the season ranked 23^rd in the nation in doubles with McShane and fifth in the West Region. Received an ITA Scholar-Athlete award and a Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.

At Cal Poly Pomona: Had a tremendous freshman season and was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Freshman of the Year. Also honored as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Rookie Player of the Year. Earned first-team All-CCAA honors in doubles and second-team All-CCAA honors in singles. Was also a recipient of CCAA All-Academic Award. Played No. 1 singles and doubles for the Broncos. Had a 13-3 singles mark, including a 7-2 record in conference play. Compiled a 13-5 mark with partner Kaitlin Wooldridge in doubles, including a 7-3 record in conference play.

At Ayala High School: Played No. 1 singles and doubles. Was the Sierra League individual champion and Most Valuable Player. Team also won a pair of league titles. Was an Honors student.

Personal: Daughter of Ben and Doris Lau. Majoring in Kinesiology-exercise science. Enjoys baking, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
