Summary

Biography

2012-13: Had a fourth outstanding season for the Golden Eagles and completed a record-breaking, four-year career. Had an overall record of 16-10 in singles, including a 12-6 mark in dual matches. Had a 1-0 mark at No. 2 singles, a 5-4 mark at No. 3 singles and a 6-2 mark at No. 4 singles. Had a 14-12 overall record in doubles, including a 9-9 mark in dual matches. For her career, had an overall record of 69-33 in singles, including a 54-21 mark in dual matches. Also had an overall record of 50-50 overall record in doubles, including a 38-36 mark in dual matches. Finished her career No. 1 in program history in singles victories and No. 2 in doubles wins. Combined total of 119 wins is a program record. Recorded a total of 92 points in dual matches in her career for the Golden Eagles. 

2011-12: Had a third outstanding season for the Golden Eagles as a junior. Had a 17-7 overall record, including a 13-5 record in dual matches at No. 3 singles. Also teamed up at No. 2 doubles with Leora Hemmerich for a 14-9 overall record and a 12-5 mark in dual matches. Also won a doubles match with Christie Lau. Won the consolation singles bracket at the Matador Collegiate Invitational at Cal State Northridge. Enters her senior season with 53 singles wins and 36 doubles victories.
 
2010-11: Had a second strong season for the Golden Eagles as a sophomore. Had a 20-6 overall record, including a 17-4 mark in dual matches. The 20 wins were the most for a Cal State L.A. player since 2004. Was 15-4 at No. 4 singles and 2-0 at No. 3 singles. Also had a 9-13 record in doubles with three different partners. Reached the Round of 16 in the ITA Fall Regionals at Cal State L.A. Had a 12-match winning season during the season and won 18 of her last 21 singles contests.
 
2009-10: Had a solid first season with the Golden Eagles as a freshman. Had a 16-10 overall record in singles, including a 12-6 mark in dual matches. Played primarily at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles. Recorded a 10-5 record at No. 3 singles and had a record of 6-4 in conference matches. Won three matches and advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Fall Regionals. Also advanced to the semi-finals of the Cal State Fullerton Intercollegiate Tournament with Dora Kiss. Was especially successful during a mid-season stretch where she won 10 of 12 matches.
 
At Long Beach Wilson High School: Was the team Most Valuable Player in 2008-09 and earned the Coach’s Award in 2005-06. Member of the conference “Dream Team” from 2005-09) and an All-Moore League player from 2005-09.
 
Personal: Daughter of Virgil and Josette Sangria. Majoring in business management. Enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping and outdoor activities. Lists reaching the quarterfinals of the CIF individuals during her freshman year in high school as her most exciting experience in sports. Was the recipient of the Joe Shapiro Scholarship in 2010-11.
