Summary

Biography

2022: Had her best season yet with the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Appeared in a career-high 19 games and a total of 564 minutes. Had the first two assists of her career for two points. Was a steady contributor off the bench throughout the season. Played a career-high 45 minutes in Cal State LA’s 1-0 win over Sonoma State in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament championship game. Picked up the first assist of her career on a goal by Erin Schrock in a 1-0 win at Chico State on Oct. 2. Notched her second assist on a goal by Alice Hernandez in a 4-3 win at Cal State East Bay on Oct. 23. An outstanding student as well, earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators. Received 2022 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition. For her career, appeared in 33 games with one start. Played a total of 814 minutes. Recorded two assists for two points.

2021: Made important contributions once again for the Golden Eagles in her second season of competition. Appeared in eight games with one start. Played a total of 141 minutes. Came up big for the Golden Eagles in their penalty kick shootout at San Francisco State in a California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament first-round game on Nov. 7. Connected on the team’s fifth and final try to clinch a 5-3 decision after the game ended in a 1-1 tie. Made her first career start and played 22 minutes at Azusa Pacific on Sept. 18. Played a season-high 31 minutes at Biola on Sept. 14. Earned 2021-22 CCAA All-Academic honors and received 2021 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition.

2020: Earned 2020-21 CCAA All-Academic honors and also received 2020 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition. Team did not compete due to COVID-19.

2019: Made contributions for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the program. Appeared in six games and played a total of 109 minutes. Made her Cal State LA debut and played 15 minutes at Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 17. Played a season-high 42 minutes in a 5-0 victory at San Francisco State on Nov. 7. Also played 24 minutes in a second-round NCAA playoff game against Western Washington on Nov. 24. Played in Cal State LA’s final five games of the season. Earned 2019-20 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors.

At Jurupa Hills High School: Was on teams that won three league championships.

Personal: Daughter of Nicolas Gamez and Martha Araceli Gaytan. Majoring in psychology. Enjoys listening to music. Lists watching her high school teammate score a golden goal as her most exciting experience in sports.
