Cal State LA Athletics

2022: Had her best season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Appeared in 15 games and played a total of 187 minutes. Scored her first career goal and had two points. Played a career-high 27 minutes in a season-opening 1-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona on Aug. 27. Gave the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead at Stanislaus State on Oct. 21. Earned 2022-23 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors. For her career, appeared in 28 games and for a total of 334 minutes. Had one goal and two points. Also had the opening successful kick in a 5-3 shootout win for Cal State LA after a 1-1 tie in an opening round game of the 2021 CCAA Tournament at San Francisco State.

2021: Made a big impact for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the program. Appeared in 13 games and played a total of 147 minutes. Came up with a clutch performance in a penalty kick shootout at San Francisco State in a first-round CCAA game. As the first player to make an attempt, knocked in her penalty kick and Cal State LA went on to a 5-3 decision and advanced to the CCAA Tournament semifinals after a 1-1 tie on Nov. 7. Made her Cal State LA debut and played seven minutes against Cal State San Bernardino on Sept. 6. Played a season-high 25 minutes at Sonoma State on Oct. 3. Played 12 minutes at San Francisco State to set the stage for her penalty kick heroics. Earned 2021 CCAA Fall Honor Roll recognition.

At Los Angeles Pierce College: Earned first-team All-Western State Conference honors in 2017 and 2018. Earned the team’s Offensive Player of the Year award in 2017-18 and was also the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2017.

At Van Nuys High School: Competed in soccer.

Personal: Daughter of Eduardo Cruz and Blanca Calderon. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys spending time with her family. Lists scoring on a PK in the shootout against San Francisco State in the CCAA Tournament and being able to represent a Nike campaign with her club team as her most exciting experience in sports.
