Summary

Biography

2015: Concluded her indoor career as one of the best players in Cal State LA history. Finished No. 2 in program history in kills with 1,514 and first in attack attempts with 4,287. Earned second-team AVCA All-America honors, becoming a three-time All-American. Earned second-team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, becoming only the second player in program history to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America recognition. Received the Billie Jean King Award as Cal State LA’s Female Athlete of the Year for a second time. Was named the team’s Most Valuable Player for a third straight year. Led the team with 496 kills, which was the second-highest single-season total since 2001. Had a career-high 28 kills in a five-set match against Cal State San Bernardino on Nov. 13. Also had 27 kills in a four-set match at Sonoma State on Oct. 21. Recorded 24 or more kills in five matches. Reached double figures in kills in 26 of 30 matches. Earned a CCAA All-Academic Award.

2014: Had another outstanding season for the Golden Eagles as a junior and was once again one of the top outside hitters in the country. Earned third-team American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America honors. Also earned first-team All-West Region from the AVCA and second-team All-West Region honors from Daktronics. Received first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors for a second straight season. Led the team for a second straight year in kills with 405. Increased her kills per set from 4.10 in 2013 to 4.22 in 2014. Also led the team in points with 450.5 and was second in digs with 260, second in service aces with 22 and fifth in blocks with 42. Had a season-high 24 kills in a four-set match at San Francisco State on Oct. 17. Reached double figures in kills in 24 of 25 matches and had 20 or more kills seven times. Reached double figures in digs 16 times, including a season-high 20 in a four-set wins over UC San Diego on Sept. 19 and Oct. 25. Received Cal State L.A.’s Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player. Earned a CCAA All-Academic Award.

2013: Showed tremendous improvement during her sophomore season and became one of the top outside hitters in the country. Earned honorable mention All-America recognition from the AVCA. Also earned first-team All-West Region and All-CCAA honors. Led the CCAA in kills with 513. That total is No. 2 on Cal State L.A.’s all-time single-season list. Became just the fourth Cal State LA player – and the first since 2003 – to earn AVCA National Player of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 16-22. Had a career-high 27 kills to pace a five-set win at Humboldt State on Sept. 19 and came back with 18 kills and a .486 hitting percentage in a four-set win at Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 20. Also led the team in points with 554.5, which was the most for the program since rally scoring was instituted in 2001. Was third on the team in digs with 360, sixth in blocks with 40 and fifth in service aces with 18. Reached double figures in kills in all 30 matches and had 20 or more kills 11 times. Had 26 kills in a five-set match against San Francisco State on Sept. 27 and against Chico State on Nov. 16. Received the Billie Jean King Award as Cal State L.A.’s Female Athlete of the Year. Earned a CCAA All-Academic Award. Was named the team’s Most Valuable Player.

2012: Made positive contributions in her first year with the program. Opened the year with a season-high 15 kills in a five-set match at Western Oregon on Aug. 30. Came back and had 14 kills in a four-set win over Florida Southern on Aug. 31. Also had 13 kills in a five-set match against Cal State San Marcos on Sept. 8. Reached double-figure kill totals in five matches. Also had double-figure dig totals six times. Was sixth on the team in kills with 100. Earned a CCAA All-Academic Award.

At Colfax High School: Was the Pioneer Valley League co-Most Valuable Player as a senior. Earned All-League honors as a junior and senior and received All-League honorable mention as a sophomore. Helped her soccer team to an undefeated league season as well and also competed in basketball. Earned Alpha Omega academic honors as a sophomore, junior and senior.

Personal: Daughter of Fred and Gillian Lofrano. Earned her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. Is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at Cal State LA. Enjoys volleyball, dogs and baking. Lists earning All-America honors three times at Cal State LA as her most exciting experience in sports.
