Cal State LA Athletics

2016: Enjoyed her best season with the Golden Eagles and led the team in digs with 304. Averaged 3.20 digs per set. Had a career-high 24 digs in a five-set match at Colorado Mines on Sept. 3. Also had 20 digs in a four-set win at Cal State San Marcos on Sept. 16 and 20 digs in a five-set match at Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 21. Reached double figures in digs 19 times. Also had 15 service aces, including a career-high four in a four-set win at Humboldt State on Oct. 28.

2015: Showed great improvement and appeared in 22 matches for Cal State LA. Finished with 96 digs in 61 sets. Had a season-high 15 digs in a five-set win at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Oct. 16. Also had 13 digs in a five-set win at Cal Poly Pomona on Nov. 11. Had a pair of service aces in a three-set win over Chico State on Sept. 19.

2014: Did not compete for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the program.

At Rancho Cucamonga High School: Earned first-team All-Baseline League and first-team All-Inland Valley honors. Team won the 2013 Baseline League title.

Personal: Daughter of Vicente Giron and Magdaly Arriola. Majoring in sociology. Enjoys going to the beach, hiking, Dodger games and watching “The Office” with her brothers. Lists going into Nationals ranked No. 1 in the nation and beating Los Osos High School for the league championship as her most exciting experiences in sports.
