Cal State LA Athletics

2008: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Had best marks of 2:08.28 in the 800, 4:11.99 in the 1,500, 9:03.19 in the 3,000 and 15:28.37 in the 5,000. Finished 20th in the 5,000 at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships.

At Glendale Community College: Was ranked fifth in the state in cross country and earned All-America honors. Was the league champion in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:58 in track and field. Also ran a 4:00 in the 1,500.

In High School: Was a league champion in the 800 meters and took second in the mile. Competed in track and field, cross country and soccer. Earned honors in cross country and soccer and was on the Principal’s Honor Roll.

Personal: Son of Ramon Lopez. Majoring in electrical engineering. Enjoys drawing, playing video games and soccer. Lists becoming a state champion as his most exciting experience in sports.
