Cal State LA Athletics

2008: Had a tremendous second season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Earned a pair of All-America honors. Was part of Cal State L.A.'s 4x100 relay team that finished third in the nation and picked up an All-America award after finishing eighth in the country in the 200. Won a California Collegiate Athletic Association Championship in the 400 meters and was part of two championship relay teams. Also finished second in the 200 and earned four All-CCAA awards. Had best marks of 10.62 in the 100, 21.01 in the 200 and 47.46 in the 400. Finished his career No. 1 all-time in the 4x100 relay and No. 8 all-time in the 200. Earned one All-America and eight All-CCAA awards.

2007: Had an outstanding debut for the Golden Eagles and was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Newcomer of the Year. Earned All-Conference honors in four events. Took second in the 200 meters with a time of 21.26 and second in the 400 with a time of 47.92. Was also a member of Cal State L.A.’s 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams that both took second in the conference meet. Qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 200.

At El Camino Junior College: Was the team’s Outstanding Performer and Most Valuable Player. Was part of a state champion 4x100 relay team as a freshman.

At Jefferson High School: Competed in basketball and football. Earned his school’s athletic award. Averaged 12 points per game as a senior in basketball and his team reached the semifinals. Lettered as a junior and senior.

Personal: Son of Yolanda Jones. Majoring in sociology. Enjoys basketball, track, football and relaxing. Lists scoring 32 points in a varsity basketball game as his most exciting experience in sports.
