Summary

Biography

2008: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Had best marks of 11.01 in the 100 meters, 22-9.25 in the long jump and 45-10,50 in the triple jump. Finished fourth in the long jump at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships and sixth in the triple jump. Was one of two Cal State L.A. recipients of the 2007-08 Dr. Hal Charnofsky Memorial Award from the CCAA for academic and athletic accomplishments. For his career, had best marks of 10.85 in the 100, 22-10 in the long jump and 47-7 in the triple jump. 

2007: Earned All-CCAA honorable mention in two events. Finished third in the conference in the 100 with a time of 10.85 and took third in the long jump with a mark of 22-10. Was also part of the Cal State L.A. 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams that took second in the conference and earned second-team All-CCAA honors. Qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships in the triple jump and placed 14th with a mark of 47-7.

At Cuyamaca CC: Was named his team’s Most Outstanding Track Athlete in 2006.

At Helix High School: Competed in track and field and basketball. Was named the varsity team’s Most Improved Athlete as a senior and was also a team MVP on the junior varsity team.

Personal: Son of Robert and Valry Carroll. Majoring in communication. Lists winning the state championship in the men’s 4x400 in high school as his most exciting experience in sports.
