Cal State LA Athletics

2011-12: Had a sensational senior season for the Golden Eagles and completed an outstanding four-year career with the program. Started in all 27 games and played 813 minutes. Averaged 10.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Was third on the team in scoring and second in rebounding. Also led the team in steals with 37 and was second in blocks with 23. Had a career-high 21 points and 10 rebounds against Cal State Stanislaus (2-18-12) and had 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 64-61 win at Cal Poly Pomona (2-22-12). Had 19 points and a season-high 12 rebounds in a 73-65 victory at Cal State Stanislaus (1-13-12). Reached double figures in scoring 12 times and double figures in rebounding seven times. Had five double-doubles. For his career, appeared in 101 games and started 82 times. Played a total of 2.656 minutes. Averaged 7.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. Also had 96 blocks and 88 steals. 

2010-11: Battled through injuries and had his third strong season for the Golden Eagles. Appeared and started in 19 games for Cal State L.A. Missed a total of eight games with injury, but came back to start the final six games of the season for the Golden Eagles. Averaged 8.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Reached double figures in scoring nine times. Had a season-high 14 points in a win over Pacifica College (11-20-10). Had a pair of double-doubles, getting 10 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Holy Names (11-15-10) and 11 points and 10 rebounds at Cal State Monterey Bay (1-7-11).
 
2009-10: Had a solid second season for the Golden Eagles and came up with one of the biggest shots of the year. Grabbed an offensive rebound and scored in the waning seconds of a 54-53 win at Cal Poly Pomona (1-16-10). Finished with 11 points and four rebounds in the victory. Appeared and started in all 28 games for the Golden Eagles. Was fourth on the team in scoring with 6.9 points per game. Third on the team in rebounding with 5.4 rebounds per game. Had a career-high 17 points and 10 rebounds in a win at Holy Names (12-14-09). Had 15 points and seven rebounds at UC San Diego (2-6-10). Reached double figures in scoring eight times.  
 
2008-09: Had a promising first season with the Golden Eagles as a freshman. Appeared in all 27 games and started eight times, including the final five games of the season. Averaged 3.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. Reached double figures in scoring four times. Had an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double at Cal State Monterey Bay (2-14-09). Scored a season-high 14 points in a win at Humboldt State (2-25-09). Also had 13 points against Cal State San Bernardino (12-5-09).
 
At Bishop Montgomery HS: Was the 2007 Del Rey League Most Valuable Player and earned first-team All-CIF honors. Was part of a CIF II-AA championship team in 2008 and earned second-team All-CIF honors. Also earned first-team Daily Breeze accolades. Competed in basketball and football in high school.
 
Personal: Son of Fred and Sheila Jones. Majoring in business administration. Enjoys video games, sleeping and watching television. Lists winning a CIF championship as his most exciting experience in sports.
