Summary

Biography

2011-12: Had a second outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in all 27 games and started 20 times. Played a total of 653 minutes. Averaged 9.1 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. Led the team with 66 assists and also had 19 steals. Had a career-high 20 points at Cal State San Bernardino (2-4-12). Also had 19 points against Chico State (2-17-12) and 18 points and five assists against Cal State Dominguez Hills (11-16-11). Had a career-high seven assists to go along with 13 points and six rebounds against Cal State East Bay (1-27-12). Reached double figures in scoring 12 times. For his career, appeared in 37 games and started 30 times. Played a total of 945 minutes. Averaged 9.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Also had 36 steals.

2010-11: Played well in 10 games for the Golden Eagles before suffering a season-ending injury. Cal State L.A. was 8-2 in those contests. Averaged 10.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Reached double figures in six games, including his final four. Had a season-high 15 points against Hope International (11-17-10) and equaled that in a win against Cal State San Bernardino (12-3-10). Also had 14 points in his final game against Cal State Stanislaus (12-31-10).

At USC: Appeared in 15 games and totaled 56 minutes in the 2007-08 season. Saw time as the backup point guard. Hit his first collegiate 3-pointer against Oregon State (2-23-08). Scored his first points and had two rebounds in the first meeting at Oregon State (1-24-08). Appeared in 15 games for a total of 49 minutes in 2006-07. Scored in five of the first eight games he appeared in that season. Also scored a point in USC’s win over Arkansas in the 2007 NCAA Tournament. Was a red-shirt in 2008-09 for medical reasons. Played in three early-season games in 2009.

At Sir Winston Churchill High School: Played three years of varsity basketball and was the team’s Most Valuable Player and starting point guard as a senior. Was the school’s Athlete of the Year. Also competed in basketball and track and field. Was on the school’s Honor Roll every year. Averaged 30 points and seven assists per game. Club team won the provincial championship three years in a row.

Personal: Son of Don and Charlene Wetherell. Majoring in communications. Enjoys hanging out with friends. Lists winning the Pacific-10 Tournament title, advancing to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament and scoring in the NCAA Tournament as his most exciting experiences in sports.
