Cal State LA Athletics

2010: Had another tremendous season for the Golden Eagles and completed an outstanding three-year career with the program. Appeared in 27 matches and 104 sets. Led the team with 440 digs and set a new all-time career program record. Also had 63 set assists  and 11 service aces. Had a season-high 28 digs in a five-set win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Oct. 6 and matched that effort in a five-set win at Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 21. Also had 27 digs in a five-set match against San Francisco State on Oct. 29. Reached double figures in digs 20 times. For her career appeared in 83 matches and a total of 316 sets. Finished her career No. 1 all-time on the program's career digs list with 1,313. Also had 46 aces and 218 set assists.

2009: Enjoyed a record-breaking season for the Golden Eagles as a junior. Recorded 488 digs, which is a new single-season record at Cal State L.A., breaking the old mark of 486. Had a season-high 31 digs against Chico State on Nov. 14. That mark is tied for fourth on Cal State L.A.’s single-match list. Also had 29 digs against Western Washington on Aug. 29 and 26 digs at Sonoma State on Sept. 12. Recorded 20 or more digs 11 times and reached double-figures in digs 23 times. Was also third on the team in set assists with 90, including a high of nine at Sonoma State on Sept. 12. Also chipped in with 15 service aces. Played well for the Golden Eagles in the NCAA playoffs and was named to the NCAA Division II West Regional All-Tournament team.

2008: Earned a starting spot in her first year with the Golden Eagles. Led the team in digs with 385 and was also fourth on the team in aces with 20 and third in set assists with 65. Was injured late in match at UC San Diego on Sept. 12 and missed four consecutive contests. Cal State L.A. went 1-3 in those matches. Reached double figures in digs in 20 of 25 matches, including 12 of the last 13. Recorded a season-high 26 digs in Golden Eagles’ NCAA playoff win over UC San Diego on Nov. 20. Had a season-high three aces to go along with 12 digs at Cal State Monterey Bay on Oct. 3.

At Golden West Junior College: Was on a team that was a state runner-up.

At Mission Viejo High School: Earned first-team All-League honors in 2006 and 2007, second-team All-CIF honors in 2006 and first-team All-Orange County honors in 2007. Team won the league championship in 2007.

Personal: Daughter of George and Edie Gay. Majoring in child development. Enjoys the beach and spending time with friends. Lists going to state and winning the volleyball festival in Reno as her most exciting experiences in sports.
