Cal State LA Athletics

2008-09: Appeared in one doubles match with Jennifer Chung and went 0-1 during tournament play in the fall. For her career, went 0-2 in singles and 2-4 in doubles.

2007-08: Teamed with Daniella Portillo and went 0-1 as a sophomore in the 2007-08 season. Duo lost to a team from Redlands in the Cal State L.A. Invitational.

2006-07: Appeared in two singles matches in 2007 during the Cal State L.A. Invitational and lost both to players from Loyola Marymount and Biola. Teamed with Rebecca Pineda for four doubles matches and the team went 2-2. Won two matches at the Cal State L.A. Invitational and reached the consolation doubles final.

At Junipero Serra High School: Competed in tennis, basketball and track and field. Earned first-team All-Eastern League honors and two team captain awards. Was part of the No. 1 doubles team and played on varsity all four years. Was the Most Improved Player on the basketball team and won the captain’s award. Was a four-year varsity competitor in track and field.

Personal: Daughter of Andrew and Kathy Barnes. Majoring in design. Enjoys music, computers, make-up and singing. Lists having the best doubles record in the Eastern League and making it to the second round of CIF competition with doubles partner Chelsea Stapa as her most exciting experiences in sports.
