Summary

Biography

2018: Was on the roster, but did not compete in any meets for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. For her career, had best times of 12:20.91 in the 3,000 meters and 20:29.07 in the 5,000.

2017: Competed for the Golden Eagles’ track and field team for the first time last spring and had best times of 12:20.91 in the 3,000 meters and 20:29.07 in the 5,000. Competed for a second season with Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall. Ran in five races. Finished 109th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 27:04.3 over 6,000 meters and was 205th in the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 27:09.7 over 6,000 meters. Had a best 5,000-meter time of 22:06.5 while finishing 33rd in the Vanguard Invitational.

2016: Competed in the fall for Cal State LA’s cross country team. Ran in seven races. Finished 100th in the CCAA Championships with a time of 25:43.3 over 6,000 meters and placed 196th in the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 26:56.6 over 6,000 meters

At LA Trade Tech College: Was one of the top seven runners in the junior college program.

At Belmont High School: Earned Most Dedicated honors in cross country and graduated high school with honors.

Personal: Daughter of Honorio Hernandez and Veronica Vargas. Majoring in biochemistry. Enjoys tae kwon do and spending time with family. Lists competing in an international tae kwon do tournament as her most exciting experience in sports. Notes she is an only daughter with two younger siblings.
