Biography

2018: Had a third outstanding season with the track and field team in the spring. Recorded an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in the 800 meters for a third straight year. Finished third in the California Collegiate Athletic Association in the 800 and earned All-CCAA honorable mention. Also posted a provisional qualifying mark in the 800 in indoor track and field with a time of 2:13.48. For her career, had best marks of 2:10.09 in the 800 and 61.28 in the 400. Finished her career No. 8 all-time in the outdoor 800 and No. 2 all-time in the indoor 800 (2:13.48). Had a tremendous final season with Cal State LA's cross country team to conclude an outstanding running career for the Golden Eagles. Was the team's No. 1 runner in all eight races. Had a sensational effort in the CCAA Championships, battling in the lead group during the competition and finishing sixth with a time of 21:39.6 over 6,000 meters. Earned All-CCAA honors in cross country for the first time. Earned CCAA Runner of the Week honors for the week of Aug. 27 - Sept. 1 after finishing third at the Redlands Invitational with a time of 17:03.8 over 4,500 meters. Finished 43rd in the NCAA Division II West Region Championships in Billings in her final race with the program. Had a time of 22:19.0 over 6,000 meters. 

2017: Had an outstanding season with Cal State LA’s track and field team in the spring. Won the CCAA Championship in the 800 meters. Recorded a lifetime best 2:10.09 at the All On The Line Meet at Westmont College on May 13. Recorded an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark for the second straight season. Also had a best time of 61.28 in the 400 meters. Had a best time of 2:14.73 in indoor track and recorded an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark. Was the team’s No. 1 runner in the fall with Cal State LA’s cross country team for a second straight season. Finished 21st in the CCAA Championships with a time of 21:50.6 over 6,000 meters and was 55th in the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 22:26.9 over 6,000 meters. 

2016: Had an outstanding first outdoor track and field season with the Golden Eagles in the spring. Finished sixth in the CCAA in the 800 meters and had the team’s best time in the event. Recorded an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark of 2:12.98 at Westmont College’s Last Chance Meet on May 13. Also had best times of 61.16 in the 400 and 4:56.59 in the 1,500. Made her Cal State LA debut in indoor track and field and had a best mark of 2:28.65 in the 800. Competed for Cal State LA’s cross country team for the first time and was the team’s top runner. Finished 31st in the CCAA Championships with a time of 22:50.3 over 6,000 meters and was 50th in the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 22:40.9 over 6,000 meters. 

At Academy of Art: Earned third-team All-PacWest Conference honors in cross country in 2014. Finished 21st in the conference. Had a best time of 22:36.7 over 6,000 meters. Competed in seven meets. Earned PacWest Academic All-Conference honors.

At Westover High School: Was a four-year letter winner in cross country and track and field. Set school records in both sports. Had best times of 5:15.00 in the 1,600 meters and 11:41.22 in the 3,200. Won a state championship in cross country and was the first girl to break 19 minutes. Team won region championships for four years. Was a recipient of the Albany Hall of Fame award.

Personal: Daughter of Eric Taylor and Pamela Butler. Majoring in nutritional science. Enjoys baking, cooking, watching movies and eating. Lists creating bonds and friendships with teammates as her most exciting experience in sports. Is No. 8 on Cal State LA’s all-time list in the 800 meters.
