Cal State LA Athletics

2018: Had a second strong season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Finished fifth in the 4x400 relay and sixth in the 4x100 relay at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. Finished 10th in the conference in the 400 meters. Had best marks of 58.63 in the 400 and 2:19.25 in the 800. Also competed in the indoor season. Had best marks of 61.62 in the 400 and 2:28.06 in the 800. For her career, had best marks of 57.34 in the 400 and 2:12.19 in the 800 in outdoor track and 60.06 in the 400 and 2:28.06 in the 800 in indoor track.

2017: Had an outstanding season for Cal State LA’s track and field team in the spring in her first year with the program. Finished second in the California Collegiate Athletic Association in the 800 meters to earn all-conference honors. Posted an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time of 2:12.19 in the All on the Line meet at Westmont College. Had the team’s fastest time in the 400 with a mark of 57.34. Also had the team's fastest indoor time in the 400 with a mark of 60.06 and a mark of 2:28.51 in the 800. Had a second strong season with the cross country team in the fall. Finished 96^th in the CCAA Championships with a time of 24:44.6 over 6,000 meters and 144^th in the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 24:06.3 over 6,000 meters.

2016: Competed for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall. Finished 76^th in the CCAA Championships with a time of 24:30.7 over 6,000 meters and 148^th in the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 24:33.8 over 6,000 meters.

At San Joaquin Delta College: Finished third in the state in the 800 meters and earned All-America honors. Received the team’s Most Valuable Player award.

At Edison High School: Competed in basketball, track and field and cross country. Earned the school’s T-cal award and was the Athlete of the Year. Was on the school’s Honor Roll.

Personal: Daughter of Jesse and Gladys Beard. Majoring in liberal studies. Enjoys reading, helping others and hiking. Lists believing in herself as her most exciting experience in sports. Notes she likes to be called, “CeCe.” Says to “go after what you want, but first believe in yourself and keep your eyes on the prize. #TheJourney.
