Biography

2016: Had a second outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his final season with the program. Appeared and started in all 19 games. Played a total of 1,279 minutes. Had four goals and three assists for 11 points. Was second on the team in scoring. Earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honorable mention. Scored his first goal of the season in a 3-0 win at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sept. 24. Got the only goal in a 1-0 win at Chico State on Oct. 7. Scored his third goal of the season in a 2-1 win at Humboldt State on Oct. 27. Got his fourth goal and his second game-winner in a 2-1 CCAA Tournament win at Cal Poly Pomona on Nov. 1. Picked up the athletic department’s Academic Achievement Award (male) for 2016-17. Earned a CCAA All-Academic honors for 2016-17 and also received a CCAA Fall All-Academic Award. For his career, appeared in 39 games and started 29 times. Played a total of 2,205 minutes. Had six goals and six assists for 18 points.

2015: Had a strong first season with the Golden Eagles. Appeared in 20 games and started 10 times. Scored two goals with three assists for seven points. Was sixth on the team in scoring. Scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime of a 2-1 win at Cal State Monterey Bay on Oct. 18. Notched his first goal of the season in a 4-0 win at Saint Martin’s on Sept. 5. Assisted on Cal State LA’s goal in a 1-1 draw at Western Washington after drawing the start in the season opener on Sept. 3. Also had an assist in a 2-0 win over Humboldt State on Sept. 20 and in a 2-1 win at Stanislaus State on Oct. 29. Earned a CCAA All-Academic Award.

At Francis Marion University:  Appeared in 37 games over two seasons and scored seven goals with seven assists for a total of 21 points. Scored the game-winning goal in a 3-1 win at Flagler (9-14-13). A goal against Newberry was named the 2013-14 Peach Belt Conference Play of the Year. Earned Play of the Month honors twice. Was on the Dean’s List and President’s List every semester.

At Eidsvoll VGS: Competed in soccer. Team was Kongsvinger Cup champions twice.

Personal: Son of Badi and Neli Hemat. Majoring in business management. Enjoys guitar, piano, Game of Thrones, Vampire Diaries and Harry Potter. Lists playing second division in Norway in front of his parents as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he is a Bahai.
