Biography

2013: Had a second strong season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the track and field program. Had best times of 26.22 in the 200 meters and 58.66 in the 400. Finished seventh with both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. Also finished 13th in the 400 and 18th in the 200. Had best marks of 8.30 in the 60, 26.88 in the 200 and 61.56 in the 400 in indoor track. For her career, had best marks of 25.58 in the 200 and 58.66 in the 400 in outdoor track and 8.19 in the 60, 26.70 in the 200 and 61.56 in the 400 in indoor track. Finished her career No. 3 all-time at Cal State L.A. as part of the indoor distance medley team that had a mark of 12:00.73 and No. 4 all-time as part of the indoor 4x400 relay team that had a mark of 3:54.53

2012: Competed for Cal State L.A.’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams for the first time. Had best times of 12.78 in the 100, 25.58 in the 200 and 58.96 in the 400 in the outdoor season. Had best times of 8.19 in the 60, 26.70 in the 200 and 63.11 in the 400 in the indoor season. Was named to the USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic Team. Earned the Female Academic Achievement Award from Cal State L.A.’s Division of Intercollegiate Athletics and received a California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic award for a third straight year.
 
2011: Concluded her soccer career at Cal State L.A. after another outstanding season. Started all 21 games as a midfielder for the Golden Eagles and helped the team to a 13-4-4 overall record and to the NCAA West Region championship match. Team finished ranked 12th in the country. Had a pair of assists, including one for the game-tying goal in a match at Cal Poly Pomona. Earned CCAA All-Academic honors for a second straight year at the conclusion of the 2010-11 academic year and received a Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award. Was selected by Cal State L.A.’s Division of Intercollegiate Athletics to receive the Hal Charnofsky Memorial Award from the CCAA.
 
2010: Appeared in all 20 games for Cal State L.A.’s women’s soccer team and was a top reserve. Earned CCAA All-Academic honors for the 2009-10 academic year. Helped team to a second straight CCAA South Division championship and into the NCAA playoffs.
 
2009: Made a big impact for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the women’s soccer program. Appeared in all 22 games for Cal State L.A. and was a key reserve. Helped team win its first-ever CCAA championship and advanced to the NCAA playoffs.
 
At Cosumnes River College: Earned the team’s academic excellence award for having the highest grade point average on the team. Was a Scholar Baller. Had six goals and six assists.
 
At Elk Grove High School: Competed in soccer and track and field. Was a scholar-athlete all four years in high school. Earned the outstanding scholar award on both soccer and track and field teams. Also earned the Link Crew Award and the Renaissance Award.
 
Personal: Daughter of Shirley Younge. Pursuing her PhD in psychology. Enjoys reading, scrapbooking, taking pictures and dancing. Lists winning the CCAA title in women’s soccer at Cal State L.A. as her most exciting experience in sports. Is Cal State L.A.’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee president for 2012-13.
