LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's men's basketball team had a pair of players earn Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Junior

Connor Scales earned the academic recognition after a record-breaking season for the program on the court and exceptional work in the classroom. Both earned the academic honors for the first time.
The awards honor student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program (formerly known as the CoSIDA Academic All-America program) recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions - NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be considered for the honor, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and be a starter or important reserve with at least a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 90% of the team's games or started at least 66 percent of their institution's games.
Agbaosi led the Golden Eagles in scoring and rebounding before missing the final three games of the season due to injury and earned second-team All-CCAA honors.
He was 14th in the CCAA in scoring with 13.4 points per game and he was sixth in the conference in rebounding with 7.0 rebounds per game. He also led the Golden Eagles and was third in the conference in field-goal percentage (54.0 percent), third in the conference in steals and third in blocked shots.
Agbaosi is a business major and carries a 3.69 grade point average.Â
Scales, a sophomore forward, was a key player off the bench for the Golden Eagles. He appeared in 28 games with four starts and averaged 3.9 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. He played a career-high 503 minutes.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs.
