LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's
Sofia Fidelus has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 19-25, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Fidelus led the Golden Eagles in scoring in both games as Cal State LA earned back-to-back wins over Cal State Dominguez Hills and extended its winning streak to six. The junior guard averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game for the week. She also had three steals and a block.
Fidelus started the week with 19 points, six rebounds and eight assists in an 87-83 win in Los Angeles on Thursday. She backed that up on Saturday with 22 points and four assists in a 78-65 victory.
Fidelus continues to lead the CCAA and ranks seventh in NCAA Division II with 5.4 assists per game. She is also second in the conference in minutes per game (36.3) and fifth in scoring (14.9 ppg).
This is Fidelus' second CCAA Player of the Week award of 2025-26, and the fourth for Cal State LA.
Nevaeh Asiasi has also earned two CCAA Player of the Week awards this season.
Cal State LA (12-5, 9-3 CCAA) will have a tough test this week as it hosts two teams ahead of itself in the standings. The Golden Eagles will face third-place Cal Poly Humboldt (12-6, 10-2 CCAA) on Thursday and co-leader Chico State (15-3, 11-1 CCAA) on Saturday. Thursday's game is Lakers Night with special giveaways and promotions scheduled for both the women's and men's games against Cal Poly Humboldt.
