LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's
Nevaeh Asiasi has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 5-11, the conference announced on Tuesday.
The senior guard averaged 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 4.5 steals per game in two home wins for the Golden Eagles. She went 22-of-43 from the field, shooting at least .500 percent in each game.
Asiasi opened the week by leading her team to a 101-66 win over Stanislaus State. Asiasi scored a career-high 27 points on 11-of-22 shooting while dishing out seven assists, grabbing six rebounds, and recording four steals. She backed that up with a 25-point, five-rebound, seven-assist, five-steal performance in a 96-75 win over UC Merced.
Asiasi is now leading the CCAA in scoring with 17.6 points per game. She is also fourth in rebounds (8.9), second in steals (2.5), and seventh in assists (3.8).
She has scored 20 or more points six times this season, including in three straight games. She has also recorded five double-doubles this season.
This is the second CCAA Player of the Week award for Asiasi in 2025-26 and the third for Cal State LA.
Sofia Fidelus also earned a weekly honor for the week of Nov. 10-16. Asiasi becomes the first Cal State LA women's basketball player to earn two weekly honors in the same season since
Lily Buggs in 2022-23.
The Golden Eagles (8-5, 5-3 CCAA) will go on the road this week to face Cal State San Marcos (6-7, 3-5 CCAA) on Thursday, Jan. 15, and Cal State Monterey Bay (7-6, 4-4 CCAA) on Saturday, Jan. 17. Cal State LA's next home game will be on Thursday, Jan. 22 against Cal State Dominguez Hills.
