LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's women's tennis team picked up a second straight win on Tuesday with a quick victory over Hope International.
The Golden Eagles took the doubles point and won the three singles matches that were completed in a 4-0 win over the Royals. The match was called after the Golden Eagles wrapped up the fourth and final point.
The No. 2 doubles team of
Sofia Pavlova and
Maldini Simic got the Golden Eagles off to a strong start with a 6-0 win over Eva Echeverri and Merrit Dubourdieu and
Lea Rolland and
Courtlyn Lam gave the Golden Eagles the doubles point with a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles over Melody Kilonzo and Catrina Hibbard. The No. 1 doubles team of
Sarah Olmos and
Hideka Takamura had a 5-3 lead when the point was clinched.
Pavlova earned a 6-3, 6-0 win over Echeverri at No. 1 singles in the first singles match completed and Rolland picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win over Dubourdieu at No. 4 singles. Lam finished the match with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Kilonzo at No. 6 singles.
Olmos had a 6-3, 5-4 lead at No. 2 singles, Takamura had a 6-2, 3-2 lead at No. 3 singles and
Charlotte Downs had a 6-2, 4-3 lead at No. 5 singles when the match was called.
Cal State LA will conclude its 2025 season on Thursday with a home match against Azusa Pacific at 1 p.m.
