AZUSA -- Cal State LA's women's tennis team battled admirably on Wednesday in its 2025 season opener at No. 21 Azusa Pacific.

The Golden Eagles picked up a win at No. 4 singles from Sarah Olmos in a 6-1 loss to the Cougars at the Cougar Tennis Complex. Olmos, who had a strong showing in the ITA Fall Regionals, started the spring dual match season with an impressive 6-2, 1-6, 10-6 win over Katherine Nguyen.

The Golden Eagles dropped the doubles point to Azusa Pacific despite a good performance from the No. 3 doubles team of Courtlyn Lam and Lea Rolland. Lam and Rolland held a 5-4 lead over Nguyen and Tina Moser when the point was clinched.
