CLAREMONT -- Cal State LA's women's cross country team had several runners post personal bests on Saturday at the Pomona-Pitzer Cross Country Invitational.
The Golden Eagles got another strong showing from
Mikaela Holguin, who finished as the team's No. 1 runner for a second straight meet. Cal State LA finished 16th out of 20 teams with a total of 455 points.
Cal Poly Pomona won the event, leading four California Collegiate Athletic Association programs competing in the meet. Cal State Monterey Bay was fourth, Cal State San Bernardino was 10th and Cal State LA was 16th.
Holguin finished 110th with a time of 24:34.1 over a 6,000-meter course.
Marina Zeferino was 120th in 23:42.5,
Nelly Garnica was 134th in 25:01.2,
Miyoko Mataalii was 136th in 25:07.6 and
Jasmine Trujillo was 203rd in 28:31.7 to complete Cal State LA's top-five.
Dalia Romo was 204th in 28:50.0.
Cal State LA will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the UC Riverside Highlander Classic.
