Box Score FRESNO -- Cal State LA's women's tennis team fell short against Stanislaus State on Saturday in the Golden Eagles' final match at the Fresno Pods.
The Golden Eagles dropped the doubles point and the first three completed singles contests and fell to the Warriors, 4-0, at the Haak Tennis Complex in Fresno. Cal State LA (1-11) concludes the trip with an 0-2 record.
Sakura Kurokawa and
Alexandra Hincu fell to Alyssa Tay and Emma Yu at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, and
Rochelle Suarez and
Courtlyn Lam fell to Nicollet Alexander and Abbigail Mulick at No. 3 doubles, 6-2. Hidecka Takamura and
Sarah Olmos were locked in a tight battle with Zuzanna Dziewiecka and Annabelle Mulick at No. 1 doubles, trailing, 4-3, when the point was clinched.
In singles, Takamura fell to Dziewiecka, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Olmos fell to Tay at No. 2 singles in a close battle, 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 and Kurokawa fell to Annabelle Mulick, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles when the match was called.
Hincu had a 6-1, 1-2 lead over Alexander at No. 4 singles, Suarez had a 6-4, 3-4 lead over Yu at No. 5 singles and Lam was trailing Abbigail Mulick, 6-3, 5-1 at No. 6 singles.
Cal State LA will return to action on Tuesday against Concordia at 1 p.m.
