FRESNO -- Cal State LA's women's cross country team took part in the 2024 California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships Friday at Woodward Park in Fresno.
Sonoma State served as the hosts.
The Golden Eagles finished 11th with 336 points with
Nelly Garnica once again finishing as the team's No. 1 runner for a fifth straight meet.
Chico State won its second straight conference title with 43 points, with Stanislaus State (60 points) and Cal Poly Pomona (66 points) finishing close behind.
Sonoma State, Cal State San Marcos, Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State East Bay, Cal State San Bernardino, Cal Poly Humboldt, San Francisco State and Cal State LA rounded out the team finishes.
Garnica finished 67th for the Golden Eagles with a time of 24:36.0 over a 6,000-meter course.
Paula Romo was next, finishing 87th with a time of 26:48.8,
Alejandra Estrada was 89th in 27:06.2,
Mikaela Holguin was 92nd in 27:19.2 and
Norma Martinez was 93rd in 28:08.6 to complete Cal State LA's top-five.
Jasmine Trujillo was 96th in 31:10.9 and
Jaqueline Monroy was 97th in 33:04.2 for the Golden Eagles.
