SAN FRANCISCO -- Cal State LA's baseball team finished up an impressive end to the 2022 season by completing a four-game sweep of San Francisco State on Saturday at Maloney Field.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to an 11-0 lead after their first four at bats and went on to a 12-9 California Collegiate Athletic Association win over the Gators. Cal State LA (21-29, 16-24 CCAA) ended the season riding a four-game winning streak and won six of its last seven games.
Nick Penzetta went 5-for-6 with three runs scored to lead a 16-hit offensive attack. He was just one hit shy of the program's single-game record of six.

Noe Garcia and
Nick Atkins had two hits each. Both of Garcia's hits were doubles.
Johnny Pacheco drove in three runs, while Penzetta and Angel scored three runs each.
The offensive support was a welcome sight for Cal State LA's starting pitcher,
Micah Hee, who allowed five runs in six innings to pick up the victory.
Christian Casados got the next six outs before running into some trouble in the ninth and
Mikell Chavez wrapped things up by getting the final three outs to record his fifth save of the season.
After a scoreless first inning, the Golden Eagles took command of the series finale over their next three at bats. Cal State LA took a 2-0 lead on a two-run second-inning double from Garcia and Angel scored on a wild pitch before the inning was over to make it 3-0.
The Golden Eagles added five runs in the third to stretch the lead to 8-0.
Will Picketts doubled and scored on a single by
Michael Rosales to make it 4-0 and Penzetta and Angel followed with singles to load the bases. Pacheco delivered a two-run single to make it 6-0 and, after
Wilem Drozdowski drew a walk to load the bases again, Salgado walked to force in a run and make it 7-0 and Picketts walked to force in another run and make it 8-0.
Cal State LA increased the lead to 11-0 in the fourth. Pacheco walked with the bases loaded and two runs scored when Drozdowski reached on an error.
Atkins drove in Cal State LA's final run in the sixth with a single that drove in Garcia.
