TURLOCK -- Cal State LA's women's track and field team got victories from Javany McDermott and the 4x400 relay team to highlight the day at the Kim Duyst Invitational on Saturday.

McDermott won the triple jump with a mark of 38-6.25 and the 4x400 relay team of Mya Ferguson, Dericka Braden, Sanaia Woods and Aazalet Danage captured that event with a time of 4:05.69; Those victories propelled the Golden Eagles to a fourth-place finish in the meet with 47.5 points at the Al Brenda Track. The two wins accounted for 20 of those points.

The versatile McDermott also tied for second in the long jump with a mark of 16-11.25 and placed third with the 4x100 relay team in 49.43. That team also included Danage, Braden and Woods.

Jordyn Wyatt finished in a tie for fourth in the discus with a mark of 127-0, Braden finished sixth in the 400 with a time of 60.97, Woods was seventh in the long jump with a mark of 15-9, Pamela Grissom was seventh in the shot put with a mark of 36-9 and Ja'Narie Rhambo was eighth in the hammer with a mark of 144-2 and also eighth in the shot put with a mark of 36-4.25 to account for the rest of the team's points.

Cal State LA will return to action next Saturday at the Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic.
